Introducing Board Chair Kenny Hilaire

United Way Halifax is pleased to introduce our new incoming board chair, Kenny Hilaire. Kenny lives in Halifax where he is the Manager of Canadian and Caribbean Operations for Prosci, a leading global company in the area of change management. He has been a volunteer with United Way Halifax since 2018 and he joined our board in 2019. He replaces outgoing board chair Craig Thompson, who finished his 2-year term and remains on our board as past chair.

Kenny is honoured and humbled to serve as board chair. “As a volunteer with the Volunteer Funding Panel and then as a board member, I am blown away by the level of care and passion the United Way, its staff, and board pour into every decision and action they take.” Kenny is looking forward to working with CEO Sara Napier, other board members and the staff team to overcome challenges in the sector and find solutions to keep helping community. “These are unprecedented times but there are important opportunities ahead that will allow United Way Halifax to bolster the level of support it provides to the most vulnerable in our community.”

We are looking forward to working closely with Kenny in the coming months.

We are also thrilled to announce several new members of the board. Inclusive recruitment efforts led to many excellent candidates. The following were nominated to join the board on a three-year term, and were voted in at our Annual General Meeting:
