Funding Recipients 2023-24

The following organizations received funding  from United Way Halifax in 2032-24 for United Way Halifax Community Fund programs, Community Services Recovery Fund projects, Wildfire Recovery and the Urgent Food & Essentials Fund. These amounts do not include designations from donors.

CSRF (Community Services Recovery Fund)

The Community Services Recovery Fund was a one-time is a one-time investment of $400 million to help Community Service Organizations (charities, non-profits, Indigenous governing bodies) adapt, modernize, and be better equipped to improve the efficacy, accessibility, and sustainability of the community services that they are providing through the pandemic recovery and beyond. United Way Halifax was proud to partner with United Way Centraide Canada to administer funding locally to applicants in Mainland Nova Scotia. Five projects were funded in Colchester/Cumberland counties, 26 were funded in Halifax and areas not served by a United Way, two projects were funded in Lunenburg County and three in Pictou County for a total of $2,166,762.

United Way Halifax Wildfire Recovery Appeal

The Wildfire Recovery Appeal was established to help organizations to support people who were impacted by the wildfires in HRM and Shelburne and Barrington. The appeal first helped meet basic needs for those who were displaced, and later supported ongoing and long-term needs. The total disbursed in 2023-24 was $1,028,307.
