Reporting to the Director, Affordable Housing – Maritimes, the Affordable Housing Administrator provides a full suite of administrative, and operations support to the Affordable Housing division of United Way Maritimes. This individual plays a key role in managing day-to-day administration, including managing the calendars of the Director, Affordable Housing and the Affordable Housing Project Developer, managing supplier contracts, serving as the first point of contact for in-person, phone, and email inquiries, and supporting data integrity.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Work with suppliers and contractors to support various housing projects.
- Support different funding opportunities by conducting research, helping complete applications, and ensuring alignment with priorities.
- Provide proactive administrative support to various Affordable Housing division team members, including calendar management, minute taking, meeting scheduling, and more.
- Work with different advisory groups and committees to ensure strong stewardship of volunteers and organizational work.
- Serve as the primary “go to” person for any Affordable Housing division projects.
Our ideal candidate is a highly organized and communicative individual with a strong passion for and experience in service delivery. This individual is very adaptable, looks for new opportunities, and is comfortable working with minimal direction. They are interested in issues of housing, poverty, and social justice, and believe in the values and mission of United Way.
Additional Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of administrative assistant experience in a professional and fast-paced environment (experience supporting senior leaders is considered an asset).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and keen attention to detail.
- Confident communication and active listening skills.
- Strong Office 365 skills, including comfort with SharePoint and advanced knowledge of Excel and database programs.
United Way Maritimes is committed to a comprehensive compensation package including salary, pension contribution, health and dental benefits, generous vacation time, professional development and training, flexible work hours and location, and parking/transit pass.
