COVID-19 Support Fund Applications
United Way Halifax will take a phased approach to disbursing the donations received through the newly created COVID-19 support fund (Atlantic Compassion Fund). We are not currently accepting applications for cash disbursements, but we are accepting applications for Atlantic Business Interior's in-kind furniture donation described below.
Furniture Donation: Free office furniture to non-profit organizations in Atlantic Canada whose working conditions have been directly impacted by COVID-19 (up to $10,000-worth of furniture per organization).

Support for Seniors
On March 29, 2020, the federal government announced $9 million funding to United Way Centraide to support vulnerable seniors at risk due to the COVID-19 crisis. This funding is intended to support community agencies’ supports for isolated seniors in all parts of Canada including rural and remote communities. It comes from the federal New Horizons for Seniors Program.
This funding will be available for registered charities only who serve individuals who are 55+. When we have more information about criteria and the process for applying for funding, we will update our website and social media channels.
