April 15 - 21 is National Volunteer Week, and we would like to recognize the efforts of volunteers from across the city who have stepped up to help out.
In 2017, United Way Halifax volunteers gave 53,784 hours of their time - they improved 71 community spaces and 76 community organizations benefitted from their time and talent. Volunteers helped run fundraising campaigns across 227 organizations in city and many helped to educate 670 people grow their empathy and understanding of poverty. They helped us in our decision making at the board and committee level.
United Way would not exist without the ongoing support of volunteers in our community. Every day, volunteers step up to ask how they can help strengthen our city.
