Young professionals are volunteering at historically high levels.  While this is great news for not-for-profit organizations, the focus of this generation’s effort is increasingly on global issues and not as much on local causes.

We must promote and develop locally focused giving behaviours in the next generation of leaders in Halifax - engaging them in the United Way, empowering them to act and helping to ensure the long term viability of the organization.

That is why we are launching GenNext!

The GenNext Cabinet will promote community engagement, volunteerism and coordinate a GenNext ambassador network across the many workplaces that take part in the annual campaign.  We will leverage social media and grassroots initiatives to promote our mission and objectives.  We will lay the foundation of tomorrow's United Way of Halifax Region, today!
