Leadership Giving

United Way Leadership Donors are people who contribute $1000 or more annually to build a strong healthy community (Approximately $40 per pay). Their reasons for giving are as different as each of the donors. Leadership Giving is the fastest growing area of United Way’s Annual Campaign. In 2007, 953 leadership donors contributed a total of $1.4 million to United Way, representing 25% of the overall Annual Campaign.

Although it is often assumed that only those at the most senior levels and making very large salaries are Leadership donors, we know that Leadership Giving is not about either job title or salary level. There are many reasons for giving at all levels beginning with a wish to make a difference. The impact of a Leadership Gift is significant and more possible than many might first assume.

I have often heard that leaders take people where they would not go on their own. Leadership Giving is all about making a difference in our community. It takes many forms and comes from the heart. United Way Leaders give $1,000 or more every year so they can help make this a great community for everyone. In 2007, 953 leadership donors contributed a total of $1.4 million to make our community strong and supportive. You can join this group and be a United Way leader!”
