Raising Money

United Ways have the unique privilege of raising money through payroll deduction in workplaces. Often companies in the private sector match their employee donations or make a corporate gift.

In HRM, 1000 workplaces organize annual campaigns to support our community.  At the same time, these organizations also build a sense of commitment to the community, loyalty to their fellow employees and inspire others to give.

More than 26,000 donors contribute to United Way with amounts ranging from $1 per pay up to $25,000. 

The Annual Workplace Campaign kicks off in September and wraps up in December with a Celebration Breakfast thanking donors.

CTV has committed to be Signature Sponsor of United Ways in the Atlantic Region in 2008 and 2009.
